RAF Barnham

Message from Nick Timothy MP

I am furious about Labour’s decision to house illegal immigrants at RAF Barnham, just over the constituency border and not far from Brandon, Mildenhall, Elveden, Santon Downham, Eriswell and Lakenheath.

This will cause pressure on local services and infrastructure – and it presents a serious risk to public safety. These illegal immigrants often come from the most violent and misogynistic countries in the world, and we have seen where they have been housed elsewhere, there is often a spike in crime. Often this crime is serious, and directed at women and girls.

The Government has lied about housing these illegal immigrants. When I have challenged ministers in the House of Commons before, they say local MPs are always “engaged” before housing decisions are taken.

I was not engaged and this decision was taken in total secrecy. In fact ministers announced it after the Commons rose last night to avoid our scrutiny.

I have written to the Home Office and West Suffolk Council - whose leader, Cliff Waterman, says this is the “right policy”. It is completely wrong, and I will resist it fiercely. You can see both of my letters below.

Please sign my petition below in order to demonstrate your clear opposition.

Two minute survey by Nick Timothy MP: Early Release of Prisoners

Thursday, 16 July, 2026
The Government’s Sentencing Act means thousands of prisoners will be eligible for early release after only one third of their sentence. When they passed the Act, the Conservatives sought to amend it, so serious criminals like rapists and sex offenders were excluded.
